District Representatives

Hello all,

A few words of clarification are in order.

  1. The District representatives are not to replace the regional coordinator – they are in addition to the regional coordinator. I don’t think the regional coordinator can also serve as a district representative.
  2. The district reps will work together with the regional coordinator to plan the next season, welcome new affiliates, and coordinate the round robin season.
  3. It is appropriate to have a leadership team that can share the workload, help come up with creative solutions to new challenges, point out fatal flaws in ideas that are just a little too creative, and provide continuity when the regional coordinator changes. We have already started doing this with Scott York (2007) and Jeff Schubert (2008) and planned to add Marie Stout and Elise Pope this year.
  4. It is good that the leadership team be geographically diverse.
  5. The division into districts should be for nominating and voting purposes only. This should not impact in the slightest any tournaments. You should feel free to bring up issues with any of the leadership team – whether or not they are from your district or directly with the regional coordinator.
  6. I would appreciate it if someone would nominate Scott York for district A, Marie Stout for district B, and Jeff Schubert for district C.

Steps for submitting a nomination:

  1. Read information on the District (State) Representatives postion at http://www.ncfca.org/downloads/pdf/NCFCA_State_Representative_Info.pdf
  2. Send an email to your nominee to nominate them.
  3. If the nominee wants to serve they read and agree with the document (link above), then write up a short bio about their leadership experience in NCFCA and send the nomination and bio information to Mike_Larimer@NCFCA.org. Nominations and bio are due by 25 July.
  4. If we have multiple candidates for one district the election itself would be held after 25 July.
